Why can't you just understand that atk/hp don't mean anything? They are there just for abilities. You could get confused if you think like that.

Because 0 HP isn't 1 HP. 0 HP is 0 HP.

I suggest you read the rules carefully. Most of your questions were answered in a three line quote that Iancudorinmarian gave to you. This makes me doubt if you read the rules at all.

1.  Third faction seems kind of interesting, haven't seen a survivor faction in a while.
2.  Played a decent number of games IRL, about 10-15 or so across various internet locations, just getting back into Mafia after a couple years away from it.
