Elements Mafia XXXVIII
The Hunger Games of Edibland
Spoiler for 'Lore':
In a realm far removed from the Elementals, a sentient life force had taken shape and cultivated their own lands. These beings had fairly simple supplement to keep them going; their glorious light, their carefully mandated water, and of course, their replenishing soil. They called their world 'Edibland', and lived in harmony. Taking the shape of common fruits, veggies, and cleverly sliced meats, they were simple-minded.
Until a portal opened.
In the aftermath of two feisty Aether duelists, one of them had sent the army of the other through multiple dimensions as to disarm her during their battle, but had no foresight as to where the army would arrive at. Falling through the skies, these creatures found themselves unable to summon their master, and began to frantically panic as to what to do as they landed on the shores of a island surrounded by fresh water.
But the 'King' of them, the Otyugh, was a glutton... for power. He noted a wandering turnip that had arms and rolled itself to the inwards of a forest. It didn't seem to notice them.
"LUK ET DAT, WI KAN EET DEM N LIV FOEVAR!"
"Kaw! Easy pickings for us! Kaw! Just be smart about it! Kaw!" echoed the Vulture.
*bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzttttt* "...mmm.... they know... portal visible ... still there... mmm..." mumbled the Scarab.
And as such, the 'hungry' creatures began plotting to make a wonderful feast...
But a few other creatures had hidden themselves far from the view of the others, worried about their condition.
"Triangulation complete. Cosmic-vector analysis indicates current coordinates-(*RE-PROCESSING* --- *DIAGNOSTICS CONFIRMED*)... L51.148.2B by 219.Y10.9H. Liquid, gas, and solid samples of the environment indicate that the planet can support organic and non-organic life indefinitely, assuming resources are allocated in moderation. The portal remains open for a span of approximately 500 hours, as Duelist Taluan has yet to reverse the quantum-inflector to seal our entrance due to hypothetical negligence. Innate mineral deposits indicate that the land can provide tools for re-entrance back, but require extreme integrity to assemble. " The soothing computerized voice of the Phase Salvager reassured them.
The Chrysaora was unable to communicate through normal means, but the Psion had done a quick translation of its thoughts. (*at least I got to play in clean water for once*)
"This is unacceptable! We MUST find a way back to our goddess; I will not serve the rest of my life living in some pseudo-tropical paradise protecting cabbages from mildew!" raged the Crusader.
And as such, the creatures yearning for their 'escape' began plotting for a way back to their homeland...
A brightly red-colored fruit being fell from a tree. Despite the descent, it was happy that it moved at all.
RULES:For those who have been asking:
What is 'Mafia'?- The most important rule: -PLEASE- have the word "Mafia" IN YOUR PERSONAL MESSAGE TITLE for me to read it. I will ignore (or possibly delete!) any message that does not follow this.
- No posting during the 'Night Phase' whatsoever; do not post, chat, OR PM ANY revealing information while you're dead (except for minor 'BLARGH'/murloc TM death noises). Everyone gets '~1' warning per night phase if they mess this up, but beyond that, the Oracle will come through and personally kill the potato in question for their wasted potential (i.e. - you get disqualified and removed, and it's a sad face moment).
- All Secondary roles/targeting/actions are to be messaged during the NIGHT phase, unless the ability explicitly states otherwise.
- No player may do the 'No-Vote'/AFK for two consecutive days.
- Post in the topic if you want to sign up. No need for any 'role' choosing or whatnot, everything is randomized and assigned.
- Do not quote PMs. Ever. Furthermore no one is permitted to declare themselves to be a mafioso, either publicly or through PMs.
- You are allowed to talk in chat about mafia, but please remember general chat rules.
- Reread rule number 1.
If necessary, reread the rules to gain a full understanding. Especially rule number 1.
ROLES:ALLIANCES:Team Escape - The general civilian roles of the game. Protect your fellow creatures from being devoured by the others, and find a way to get back home to your Master!
Team Hunger The 'Mafia' of this game, their role is to secretly consume all of the other civilians and become nigh unstoppable (approx. 20-25% of the # of players)
Team Foodstuffs Members of Edibland, your duty is to stay alive and hope that these jerks just go away.
[10%-25% of players, highly random for this mafia]
ABILITIES AND STATS:In regards to "STATS", all players will have an initial ATK/HP dependent on their creature selected. This ATK/HP amount has no effect on the votes or how you die (0 HP doesn't mean you are auto-killed), but it does cause certain abilities to work (or fail!). (See Otyugh for the main example of HP affecting skills)
Stats to each creature are labeled as such:
[ATK/HP]Secondary powers occur during the
night time (i.e. - send them during the night!), unless otherwise specified.
Key:
(ER) - Every Round. Can be used every turn.
(EoR) - Every other Round. Can be used every other turn (i.e. - you must wait a day to use it again)
(LU) or (#U) -
Limited use. Abilities with these annotations can only be used a specific amount of times (save for very rare circumstances). For example, a "1U" ability can only be used once throughout the entire game, whereas a "3U" ability can be used 3 times before the ability expires.
(Passive) - You do not require to PM this passive for it to trigger automatically.
POTENTIAL TEAM HUNGER ABILITIES:THE KING, AKA Oyugh (ER): Instead of doing a normal night kill, the King may choose to completely DEVOUR one of the other players in the game, reducing his total number of votes on him by 1 permanently (it can go into the negatives if no one votes on him for example). This ability can always be used in place of the normal mafia kill, and allows him to override mafia decisions (see below); however, if the creature targeted is too big for the Otyugh to consume, this effect will fail. Otyugh initially starts at 0 ATK and 5 HP (gaining additional ATK/HP per 'Devour'), and public announcements will indicate its current stats each day.
[0/5]{NOTE: This is the only 'mafia' role guaranteed to be in this game version. As the most powerful of Team Hunger, the King has the ability to override any mafia decision (i.e. - if a mafia member sends a kill, Otyugh can instantly negate that by sending their own kill decision). However,
if the mafia fails to make a decision, the King will get restless and eat one of his own out of pure hunger.}
Scarab (ER): Harass a player with a hidden beetle; you learn their exact role the following night cycle.
[2/1]Vulture (Passive/1U): On the first day, name even or odd. Your voting power increases by 0.5 whenever a player is lynched with an even or odd number of votes; it increases by 1 automatically whenever a player is devoured successfully. ATK/HP increase by 1 per direct creature kill (Virus, Paradox, Devour)
[1/2]Devourer (EoR): Target a player; their vote is negated to 0 and your voting power is increased by their original voting power for the next day only.
[0/2]POTENTIAL TEAM ESCAPE ABILITIES:Phase Salvager (ER): Choose to analyze either the specified HP or ATK of the target player (i.e. - all creatures have a set amount of HP and ATK that may or may not change).
[6/0]Psion (ER): Mind read a player's motives, determining the main characteristic they embody (hunger, escape, or survival).
[4/4]Chrysaora (Passive): If you are devoured or killed by the mafia, poison the mafia member in question that killed you, causing their voting power to be permanently set to 0, and reducing their health by 1 each turn until it hits 0 (nothing happens if it hits 0 though). In addition, you permanently add 1 to the vote total of any player you vote on until they are killed.
[0/2]Mind Flayer (EoR): Disable a player's secondary ability for that night only. You learn of the type of skill of the player if your disabling was successful (Passive, EoR, etc.).
[2/2]Pharaoh (Passive): You always learn who the Scarab targeted (if they targeted anyone) during the night. You do not know who the Scarab is, however.
[4/9]Ghost of the Past (Passive): Kill whatever player that voted on you first if lynched. In addition, you may still vote while dead by sending the host a PM.
[9/4]Archangel (6U) [DAY AND NIGHT SKILL]: Prevent a player from being killed during a day-lynch OR during the night. This ability can be used immediately per day/night cycle (you can use it in the same day/night cycle as necessary).
[7/7]Elite Crusader (1U): Embody the skill(s) of a target player.
[3/5]Voodoo Doll (Passive): All abilities that affect you also affect their user (except Devour).
[0/20]Vampire (Passive): Decrease your voting total by the amount of votes of the player you voted on. Leeching for the win!
[4/3]Virus (1U): Sacrifice yourself to kill another player.
[1/1]Elite Skeleton (3U): Name a player; if they are lynched or devoured, they are automatically saved, but they lose their original skill and become a Skeleton (0U) for the rest of the game. You may choose to use all three uses of this ability in one go.
[2/2]Maxwell's Demon (EoR): Target a player; if the target player's role has higher ATK than HP, kill that player immediately; otherwise, you are randomly given their ATK or HP based on the night number...
[3/2]Purple Nymph (EoR) [DAY SKILL ONLY]: Invert the player's voting total to the negatives (if possible), as well as inverting the target player's ATK for that day only.
[3/2]Lava Golem (Passive): Your voting power automatically increases by 0.5 each day. Your ATK/HP both increase by 1 each day.
[7/1]Seraph (3U) [DAY AND NIGHT SKILL]: Prevent your death during a lynch phase or during the night. This ability can be used immediately per day/night cycle (you can use it in the same day/night cycle as necessary).
[12/1]Graboid (Passive): Your voting power is halved to 0.5, but all skills have no effect on you (you're burrowed!) and are reflected back to their owners.
[2/3]Vanadium Warden (ER) [DAY OR NIGHT SKILL]: Negate a player's vote during the day OR negate a player's skill during the night phase. This ability can be used once per day/night cycle (either day or night).
[0/6]Forest Spirit (ER): Name a player; if that player survives the night, gain +1 voting power and +2 ATK/+2 HP.
[2/3]Leaf Dragon (Passive): Your voting power increases by 1 for every player (besides yourself) that changes their vote that current day; you also learn the element of the last player that voted each day.
[1/3]Wyrm (EoR): Double your own voting power for the following day, or triple another player's voting power for the following day.
[3/3]Firefly Queen (12U): Summon a Firefly on a player, causing all targeting effects on the player to be redirected instead to the Firefly (i.e. - the skills affect an NPC Firefly instead of the player). You are notified who targeted the Firefly, but not the wearer. Fireflies last indefinitely on a target player until they are targeted by a skill. One firefly per player. Both you and the player are notified when the Firefly status is applied and wears off. Fireflies do not prevent lynches or normal mafia kills (but do mitigate devours).
[3/7]Massive Dragon (Passive): If you are one of the first three people to vote on a player, their voting total cannot be decreased by any skill.
[8/30]Graviton Firemaster (ER): Increase a player's voting power equal to their current ATK stat. Permanently gain +2 ATK.
[0/6]POTENTIAL TEAM FOODSTUFFS ABILITIES:Average Potato (Passive): You are the only player capable of surviving Devour directly (you automatically revive when targeted by Devour). However, this ability can only occur if you vote on yourself during the day phase.
[10/0]Tempting Apple (1U) [DAY SKILL ONLY]: Publicly announce this ability and redirect all votes on one player to another; these votes are finalized for that day and cannot be moved. Your role is revealed obviously.
[5/3]Smelly Cheese (ER): Using your natural aromas to target the attention on a person, increase a player's voting total and voting power by 1 permanently. You cannot target yourself.
[1/11]Sweet Mochi (Passive): On the first day/night, you MUST name a player to hide behind; you cannot be targeted, lynched, killed, or devoured as long as your 'bodyguard' survives (targeted effects are redirected to the player you named). If they die however, you are automatically killed.
