That's terrible logic. If you think someone's a mafia, you lynch them. Even as a ghost a mafia can influence how people think by saying things, which is prevented by killing them. A living mafia can also contribute to the mafia's scheming.

Knowing that Root's fairly experienced, if you actually thought he was mafia, you would vote for him.

Well apparently I am one with shitty logic as well.  And we have nothing but guesses, so I do not "actually think he is mafia".  What I am saying is that it is much better to lynch a non-ghost than a ghost.

No, Lax is right on this one.
Let's take a look at what makes up a player's power in a mafia game: their vote, their abilities, their influence.

A ghost mafia does not have any meaningful ability unless he is the only mafia left (not the case) and killing a ghost mafia does not remove his vote. As for my influence, if you really do suspect I'm a mafia, then just don't listen to anything I say unless it is strictly logical (like this post).

This was a rather poor logical misstep, Helston.

Helston and Oni both have roughly the same chance of being a mafia, but I would rather keep alive someone who knows what he's doing.

I think I misread Laxa's post as him stating he thought Root was a mafia. However, I still think his logic is wrong.

@Root, even if you are ignoring a mafia's posts, they can still contribute to the plans of the rest of the mafia. What's more, supposing we don't get any hard evidence any time soon, if we lynch a known mafia THIS round, we stand a better chance of not mislynching when we do go for the semi-random vote. And if evidence DOES come up, it means we haven't wasted a mislynch.
