Here's my reasoning for lynching ddevans before Zerg.  ddevans told me that he was a virus.  If he is innocent, he will have the common sense to virus someone before he dies so that his death was not wasted.  If we decided to kill Zerg and it turns out he is an FG, then ddevans will virus one of us civvies (most likely).

Here's how I think it is... If Zergking dies by lynching, then ddevans will die by nightkill. This way, there'll be no confirmed civies (despite your vouching so far). So, I'll witness, so that at least one of you will live.
