The town turned their eyes next to Demagog. Certainly he could be held responsible for the last murder of an innocent. Perhaps it was part of his plan all along, to slowly kill off the other villagers, until only he and the other false gods were left, or perhaps he was simply corrupted by their influence? Either way, he had to die. The townspeople took up their swords, and went to Demagog's house. Just as they were about to kill him though, Svenningen jumped forward, warning the others that Demagog had been innocent, that he was with Demagog at church the day the false gods descended, so he couldn't one.
Unfortunately, three villagers heard his cry too late, and when they went to stab Demagog, they stabbed Svenningen instead. Though none of the villagers saw who stabbed him, it almost seemed... convenient.
