That's because bracers of armour are much more expensive to make, and much better than armour.

besides, starting budget for a level 1 character as per PHB2 is by class
2nd level is 900
3rd is 200, plus alot of gear (because of money spent on gear and heals through career, third level characters often have less gold then second)
4th is 2100 plus gear
5th is 4,700 plus gear

Your armour would be a 5th level characters armour at BEST.

@ banana; no to that armor...what i ment when i said light non magical was padded, leather, studded or chain armor from the equipment section of the phb, i should have been more clear (same goes for the weapon)

@ purity; as there is a baby asleep on my lap, what reqs are there for your familiar or what book should i have my wife grab to let me check it out.

besides i'll be having a melee character anyway, and now that purity has talked me out of the original path i was going to take with him, i may just go big beefy tank  :P

The celestial is just from the feat I took

If you're not okay with my having a phynxkin, I'll just take a wolf. Trip is as deadly as Pounce.

Okay.  Is there a max in stats?  Half-Ogres get +6 to strength, giving me 23 STR total.
