I think it was a decent amount for a first run, though we all died way too fast due to the inactive rule.
Should there be three paths instead of two next time?
Yes please. It'll prevent the game from ending too quickly and makes the guesswork slightly more difficult than just 'flip a coin and go'.
What happens if there is a tie?
The FG invokes the RNG and picks a random path.
What should happen if someone fails to respond? Go a certain way or get killed by a zanzarinoghost?
Go a random way selected by the RNG. Even more guessing for everyone that way.

I influenced the game by saying nonresponders go left. This changed the game drastically. Was this good or bad?
Bad. It ends up getting people killed off way too quickly and probably skewed the 50% chance you were aiming for. (Simply killing off inactive players would've been better for the first time)
Should I actually reveal what direction people went and whether or not they lied? (Only sort of applies to the 3 path variant)
Your call, though if you hide the information it sort of heads in mafia's direction. I'd rather you'd kept the revealing the same as this one (show what path they took, but don't note who lied/who told the truth).
