I was asking because it's possible to link participants to their challonge accounts in the bracket, which displays an avatar if they have one, but it's not really that important!

Assuming no more signups, the format will be a round robin tournament, with 3 points for a win, and 1 point for a draw, giving each player 12 matches.

The top 4 players advance to a championship round robin, in which these four players play the other 3 finalists.  The winner of the championship tournament wins the event. 

Tiebreaking rules:

Ties in the regular season standings will be broken according to the head to head match (or head to head record if 3 or more players are tied).  N-score will be used if the head to head records are equal.

Ties in the championship round will be broken according to the following order of tiebreakers:
1) score in matches among tied players during the championship round
2) N-score within the championship round
3) regular season overall record
4) regular season record in matches among tied players
5) regular season N-score.

**N-score is a metric which sums the product of (points scored against opponent i * total points earned by opponent i) for all opponents.  This is a tiebreaker invented for chess tournaments but generally applicable elsewhere as well. 

The simple version is, wins against high ranking players count more than wins against low ranking players for your N-score.

What is the match up? am I suppose to face up against Kuroaitou? if so should I send you a bid now?and is the 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 people designate as home,if the match up is 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 9-10 11-12 13-14?

I don't like the idea of Round Robin.

With Round Robin, the best strategy is to simply wait as long as possible to play your matches. By then, many of your opponents will have lost too many games to possibly make the final 4, so they'll just give you free wins. In an event where there are going to be a lot of ties, free wins are a pretty huge deal.

It's not like I personally have anything to lose if Round Robin were implemented - it would just mean more free wins for me. I just don't want to have to resort to that strategy.

So the games will all be posted in this thread? Will we see the bids of the other games or or opponent as well? Is the top player in the bracket the home player? Can we start submitting bids and moves to you right now? Do we first play all Round 1 games before starting round 2, or do we play several games at once?

Working on an update to the main post to clarify this and a few other things, but here's quick answers for you!

Each match will have it's own thread.  Winning bids will be deducable from the thread.  The top player in each match is the home player - each player has 6 home and 6 away games.  A given round will start on a given day; consecutive rounds may overlap slightly.  Round 1 should be starting today once we get the match threads set up.
