I'm not really sure if this a good idea. Could you theoretically be in multiple 'guilds'? Because if you couldn't, then there might be a chance that some members would be ignored/separated and you'd have cliches that would either favor veterans, tightly-knit 'elitists', or other groups that would sort of isolate pockets of the community.
Wars are probably the closest to this, but it's unbiased in the sense that members are part of an 'element', and - as you can see in the War Planning #2 thread - there's going to be several members (new and old) that are going to be joining the war of different elements than what they supported/fought for in the first War currently. Plus, what are the exact 'perks' of guilds anyway? You
can't trade items in game or give electrum to other accounts; everything you could possibly do socially in a guild could simply be done here on the forums/in-chat with each other on a daily, 24/7 basis, as (I feel), the community that welcomed me is always willing to help and communicate with each other. Guild or not.
Short answer: No. It's not really that needed honestly. If you want to have the 'sensation' of being in a guild, you could always try out for the next war...
