Hi,

I noticed that there aren't many people who vote for stuff like card ideas. For example, there are only about 15-40 people that vote for crucible. This forum has many more people, but I'm guessing there are many people that don't really know about stuff like this. I know it took me a while to find out about this when I first joined.

So, I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to add a section in Newbie's area to tell them about polls, votes, etc so they know they exist and take part. Also, they could be even rewarded for them (e.g. each vote = 10 posts, which can be helpful if they want to use personal avatar). I think it might make certain parts of this forum more alive.

Ironically, the way I got enticed into joining this community was because I was asked to vote on a card idea poll.  Polls are good things, more votes, more involvement is needed.

Promoting voting is a good idea. I don't know about substituting votes for posts as there are thousands of polls on the forums already, but finding more ways to promote involvement and engagement is definitely something that I'd be interested to see.

Voting incentives is a good idea, but perhaps post count is off the mark.

By the way I don't know if I personally want newbies voting on ideas anyways, I'm newb enough for the card idea section :))

Yea, post incentive was just a random idea. I was hoping other people had better ideas.

To me, the biggest benefit of involving more participants is that it would reduce bias and lead to a result that reflects more fairness.

It's kind of the same idea for politics. If only 10% of the country voted to determine a president, you really wouldn't know how fair the result is.

Similarly, this forum has hundreds of users, but we only have so many people casting the votes. I also noticed that many of them are people creating cards themselves. I feel like we need more "unbiased" votes as well.

As far as newbies, I see what you are saying, but I also have a mixed feeling about that. Just because someone is new to this game/forum doesn't mean they are new to card games. Besides, cards will be criticized and balanced before they make it into voting, so it's not like it'd be wrong for any of them to advance to the next level. But, if quality control was needed, maybe voting can be limited to people who have made at least N posts or something.

More voters would decrease author bias and increase art bias.
How could we decrease art bias as part of increasing voters?

The first thing would be to add a message saying "please vote based on the card concept rather than the art.". I don't want to remove the art entirely though.  Possibly spoiler the art and put the effect+series in a table below?
