While I'm unsure if this is totally necessary, I am posting this just in case it inspires.
Having been on Council before I know that a lot of thought is put into selecting people for the positions of Staff. Further challenge is added when the time comes afterward to find people to replace them.
Not always are candidates well prepared, however, valuable knowledge is held by Staff and it is the transmission of this knowledge which will aid the selection process of their successors.
If the Staff could host classes to train community members on how to do their jobs, not only would Council have an easier time of finding candidates, new Staff could start working faster and community members would have something more to add to their e-resume, at least when it comes time to apply for forum Staff positions.
While for some jobs this training could just mean to give some tips and pointers and for others it could mean intensive and meticulous curriculum, the training will be invaluable to the community, to better serve the people.
