I've wondered about this a couple times, and seeing Essence's decks with their many useful tags reminded me of it. Would it be worthwhile to add tags to the topic titles of duo and trio decks, specifying what elements are used within? Personally, if I am looking in the Duo or Trio sections, it is because I am wondering: "has anyone made a good combination of X and Y elements?" or "I really like darkness. What are some of the elements people are successfully combining it with?"

If it is feasible, I think it would improve the usefulness and accessibility of those sections. Thoughts anyone?

I definitely support this
I knew this had to have been discussed before (thanks for the link). It seems like a subject worth repeating.

How exactly to go about implementing this idea seems to be the focus of the debates so far. I would start with two methods:
1. Include a requirement for tags in the "read before posting" topics. Of course the amount of tagging required should be kept simple. It would have to be decided which types of tags would be most beneficial, and only those select few would be required. (example: topic titles are required to include tags for the elements used and for the deck's intended opponent.)
2. Whenever you post on a deck topic that is not currently using correct tags, simply include in your comments a suggestion to add the correct basic tags. The community should catch on eventually.

One nice thing about this "project" is that it will still be helpful even if not everyone adopts the use of tags. As long at least a portion of deck topics add tags, the search process will at least be that much easier.

That is a good idea or at least a viable one.

A problem i could point out is that some decks are started by people that have since gone inactive. but this is at least some place to start.

Yes. We could hopefully at least get the more active deck posters on board this way. And for the more important/classic decks who's owners have left, moderators could add basic tags when they had time.

I'm not sure it would work in the forums, but the Wiki uses a tag system based on the card lists. There's a tag for every distinct card in the deck. The global strategy of the deck (rush, denial, control) isn't involved in the process, nor the elements used.

Any way to facilitate the deck search is indeed welcome.
