CIA levels 1-2 voting

just figured i'd throw it out there, but it may be beneficial to have some restriction on who is capable of voting in the CIA polls.  this doesn't have to be a big restriction, could just be as simple as having a couple dozen posts, or it could be very restricted to a few dozen or roughly a hundred selected posters.  the lesser restriction would basically just serve to remove the ability for someone to recruit outsiders to vote for them, or to have a second account for voting purposes alone.  the greater restriction could serve as a more knowledgeable funnel for card ideas to pass through.  really depends on how much, if any, changes you want to make to the system as it stands, just dropping my 2

I agree that the 'no guest votes allowed' needs to be an option in poll creation before I begin implementing them. Everything else though is a wonderful layer of icing that I would love to have, but probably not possible due to the poll mod that was implemented on the forums (if at all). I've brought this up with the current team of curators and I'll see where it'll go from there.

depends on what you mean by 'work'.  generally i think the goal is to let the better designed, more creative cards have greater visibility than the rest.  the system functions to some extent, but some good ideas (such as reverent) have lingered in level 1, while other good ideas end up in the archives rather quickly sometimes due to influx of new cards and the 18 card monthly limit. 

but if you have an idea other than voting, personally i would be all ears.  i suppose a system similar to what the idea factory started with the boutique, where the members of a select group brought up cards for consideration.  if a dozen or so people selected by the curators and/or oldtrees brought up ideas they found to be particularly good, that may better serve the purpose.

Just throwing an idea out there, but how about votes being weighted based on post count (stars->vote power) or simply number of votes based on post count (stars->votes) with ability to vote for the same card multiple times? I dont know if it's possible, or a great idea, but it's worth consideration.

Guests can't vote.

I can easily disallow people with less than 30 posts from voting in specific boards, so if you want to discuss that as a real option, go ahead.
