we have the :water, :life, :fire, :air, :time and :darkness as icons for the forums. :fire is obviously a hot topic, :time is for unread posts, :darkness is for lack of unread posts. But what about the others? coould there be a legend below the website, telling people what each symbol means?

:water, :life, :fire, and :air are all listed at the bottom of the "Show unread posts since last visit" or "Show new replies to your posts" pages.

EDIT:  Actually, these are listed at the bottom of any sub-forum section, I just realized.

Ah, i see.

Maybe there should be some symbol telling you whether you already posted on the thread? like maybe a tiny :light by the lower left edge of the icon?

I actually remember that once there was a star within the "hot topic," "very hot topic," etc. But it was covering the actual icon part, so I guess they removed it because of that.
