I see no reason, why we shouldn´t do both things. Change old and new cards.

And there have been good nerfs of existing cards e.g. the nerf of the 13/4 mortal Phase Dragon to a 8/6 or 10/6 immortal one.

The change of Carpace Shield to Thorn Carpace has been, long time after Carpace Shield was released.
And I don´t think that this was a bad change.

All in all I think, our system works and that´s all what counts for me.

It´s inevitable, but i have to compare with Magic The Gathering.
Magic is always add new cards and they don´t nerf the old ones.
That´s why all the cards here, are tested, revised, put in discussion to everyone.
The new cards have to adapt to the old ones, not the inverse.

You forget some important facts. One is that Wizards of the Coast is a business that makes money on the sale of its cards. If a card is too powerful, they restrict its use or ban it in certain tournament formats. The other important fact is that cards are a printed product, which means it is impossible to change a card once it has been distributed to millions of players worldwide.

Elements is strictly an online card game with a single developer. He actually has the ability to change cards to promote game balance. His income is from donations and advertisements, not from the sale of cards.

I think you are confused about the fundamental differences between MtG and Elements. First one is a paper CCG, and the second one is a computer game. You think maybe they have different "rules"?

You should compare Elements to MORPG's where game balancing is done every month, even years later.
