No more of the same Avatars

I propose to have a rule on the forum which to stop multiple people from wearing the same avatar. Having multiple people with the same avatar always annoyed me, and when I saw some guy with the Relic Avatar was the last drop. For a second I didn't even figure it was somebody else and wondered when I said such a (stupid) thing...

Isn't this a bit much?
I mean, it just shows that people have a bit of the same taste.
For instant, all I want is to get the ability to have my personal avatar on.

I use avatars to say who is who without always reading the name, since I am a visual person. More people with the same avatar is bad to me and other visual people.

I agree with xdude. This is why I originally made a rule that said nobody can use an avatar already taken by someone else. I haven't been enforcing that rule much though.

To everyone, if you took an avatar image that was already sued by someone else, please find another one to avoid confusion. Thanks.

The number of forum users is increasing. I don´t know the amount of junior members now.

btw. who knows, which pictures are used and which not ?

Unfortunately, just saying this here won't help. I already PM'd Relic Master and explained him the situation, but what about the rest? Oh well, at least I have a quote to use in order to convince him

This a very loose rule and breaking it is definitely not a big deal as long as the person is question is willing to change his/her avatar when asked to.

It's not a perfect system by any means but I see no better alternative. Only think I can do is add the number of available avatar images. As Elements gets more cards, we get more avatar images.

Hm.. I just had an idea for a new competition that might give us more avatar images. I'll go set it up later.

A custom avatar is a perk reserved for members with 200+ posts. I know that this annoys a lot of people but there's an easy solution for that: be more active and post more.

I think he wants to know how many forum users are in each category. Something like:
x Junior Members, y Full Members, z Hero Members etc.

I thought this information was in the New Forum FAQ (stickied in news/announcements), but it hasn't been updated since January 24. At that time, there were 1 legend (SG), 3 heroes, 3 seniors, 13 full members, 36 juniors, and 848 newbies.

The community grew a lot in the meanwhile, I think we now have at least 5-6 Senior Members. One of them is me . Wow, this community really is fast-growing.
