If you are talking about changing the brackets after then have been created, I don't think we need that.

There are no "last minute changes" really. Brackets will be created just before the tournament begins and those brackets are final. If someone is late or something, he won't be able to join the tournament.

As a rule of thumb, you should always go with what is easier.

Actually, as long as sign in is done manually in the chat by the TOs, last minute changes will be need. Not because people are late, but because mistakes happen.
I don't think more than one or two of the tourneys so far has gotten started without someone being forgotten. See how cisco had to hax in frostfox here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3449.0.html), for example.

The main screen isn't critical to begin with. We could have the most recent tourney showing, with a "start new" button or something.

Currently we have 8-32 players, and as long as we're doing manual sign in that's probably the limit of what will work.
If / when we get an automated sign in, that could perhaps be expanded to 64, but I don't think we've had more than 20 players in any event yet so it's not a priority.
If / when we get an automated sign up, once the regular slots are filled, the "(as reserve)" box should be checked by default and disabled (or there could be an error msg, if that's easier).

Sorry about the idle time, I haven't got lot of time on my hands and even when I do, I spend it playing Elements ;]

All the following apply to the league manager as it is quite finished and can be made live in a few days.

I would need some information and setup regarding the SQL server the Elements forum runs on. I assume you run MySQL, but I can cope with other servers.

1. Either a full access user (I do not recommend this for security reasons), or a new user with every privilege towards a single new database is required in the SQL server. Read permissions on usernames/password hashes or session information would be also nice but probably I can work around without them.
2. A way to FTP over my PHP to the server also required.
3. Since we will use the forum engine anyway, some integration to the forum itself would be nice too. I could also use the style sheets from the forum to pimp up the looks.
4. Not directly development related, but this obviously means that people will need a forum user to play in the league.

Um.. first I need to make sure. Are we talking about the original tournament thing or the new league thing?

I totally forgot about this project. Is it still a go, or have you abandoned it?

This project has been classified as "dead".
