yes, i know that i've put up something there as well, but...

as much as i hate to admit it, the "nerf this card" area is becoming a battlefield between people trying to nerf cards and others going against them. it's just becoming a place to complain about stuff.

the discussions all seem to lead nowhere. the board is just making people get pissed off at each other...

Anyone who gets pissed off at talking about card nerfing probably takes forums too seriously.

I like to hear the arguments for and against.  Essence made a point with the low use of golems and antlions--is it because of graboids?  It's interesting to consider.  And I am so ready to post in the Buff this Card board, as soon as it opens...

That's why we have moderators who will step in if needed, just like I did this morning.

We are not going to ban some discussion topics just because things might get heated. Card balance is the core of Elements, and people should be allowed to talk about it.

To add to what SG said, one should fully expect card balance discussions to become heated, because card balance is what shapes the entire game. If you change even one card, it has an effect on all levels of play. So naturally, discussion about possible changes will matter so much that debate will become heated. The forum staff encourages debate, but will not allow forum rules to be broken.

Removing a forum area does not remove the threads.

Fixing the problem does.  If there is any fighting and/or flaming, just report it, and I'm sure the ever friendly mods will take card of it.

It´s inevitable, but i have to compare with Magic The Gathering.
Magic is always add new cards and they don´t nerf the old ones.
That´s why all the cards here, are tested, revised, put in discussion to everyone.
The new cards have to adapt to the old ones, not the inverse.

but if the new cards have to adapt to the old cards, then there isnt much room to do any kind of card creating. look at it this way.

i make a series of cards. one at a time, i make the cards.
i make the first 3. i start getting some good ideas with the newer cards, but then they would be out of balance with the other cards. what do i do, alter the old cards? or cripple my newer and good ideas JUST so i keep it consistent with the older cards. well that depends. which ideas are better, which ones will be good ideas longer, and which ones will make people happier? thats why there is a nerf and a buff section. at least thats why i think there is both.
