Are IP addresses registered by the last one to log into the account, or the one that was used to make the account?
Every message posted is stamped with the IP used, and additionally every profile has a tab (only visible to admins) that lists every IP used by it. I can also type in IP addresses/ranges with wildcards and get a list of every account/post in that range.
That's pretty neat. o_O That makes monitoring a lot easier.

But what is so bad about multiple accounts themselves? I agree, when an account trolls then it should be banned outright, but if it doesn't, then what's the problem?
But this brings up another question. Why bother having two accounts in the first place? One is quite enough. Yes, perhaps in an MMO, having multiple accounts means that you can have more storage space or more classes/races/jobs. However, on a forum, one account can do everything it needs to, so why bother having another unless you're trying to fool everyone else into thinking you're someone else?

I have seen bobcamel around here quiet a bit, none of the times trying to fight. Also, I think that although the mods should be made aware of multiple accounts (if that) then it should still be a deal with it as we go biases. I myself am thinking about creating a second account after a certain point, and not for trolling. but if someone breaks a rule, really, I agree 110% that they should not be able to get around it by switching accounts.
For what reason would you have for making a new account?

There is absolutely no valid reason for making a second account. Only reason people do that is trolling or posting something they don't want to post it with their main account. And the reason they don't want to post it with their main account is never a good one.

Forfeit if you want to make a second account, just announce it publicly and delete this account you have now. Why would you need two different identities?

Building off of what SG said, if you want to have a different name or avatar or whatever, you can edit everything about your current account without having to make a new one. The only thing you can't change it the account's login ID name.
