So, umm, why not start a sticky somewhere with peeps that are willing to be mentors listed in the OP and somewhere visible for new players to find easily?

Just need someone with Mod powers (not me) to post something in the Newbie section. Maybe not a sticky, but a nice little thread. Something like "Mentoring Program for new forum members" or some such. Then in the OP, list who are the current mentors and in each post on the thread, someone can ask for a mentor and one of the listed mentors can sign off taking on the role of mentor for one who has asked in said thread. There wouldn't have to be any predetermined maximum time limit but at least be handy for a minimum of a week, either in chat, PMs or both, to help that person get around and meet the community.
Really doesn't have to be anything grand, but it wuold sure help many who have questions and want someone they can go to right away and ask. All this would do is better our little community and it wouldn't even take that much to do it!
