The "Moved:" redirect notices aren't marked as read when followed, hence clogging up the "show unread" list.
Show all unread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0) doesn't show any more than the normal show unread does. This was with unread posts both from the old forum and a few made here that I didn't get to yesterday.
The star for threads I've posted in doesn't fit the theme. Not sure what else could be used that would look better, but perhaps the spell lightning bolt symbol?
The "N users in chat" line in the header seems a bit pointless as is. That info is available in the top menu anyway.
Code boxes need a colour change, as light text on light background is impossible to read (example (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=1404.msg15660#msg15660)).
Edit: Links could do with a bit higher contrast to the regular text. There's two of them above, but it's a bit hard to tell.
Edit 2: Oh, and slightly off-T, the "New Forum FAQ (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=1409.0)" asks for replies where none can be made (at least not by us mortals).
Good feedback. Thanks.
On the old forum it was really annoying when these "MOVED" threads were visible for weeks before they finally went to page 2. On this new forum I have installed this modification that allows me and the mods to choose how long this "MOVED" thread will be visible. Lowest setting is one day which is good imo. After that one day the "MOVED" thread automatically disappears so they won't clog up the "show unread" list. That won't of course solve this problem but it makes it less annoying. There's no setting to fix this problem so we just have to wait for an software update.
That "show all unread" is probably a bug also. I have to investigate it some more. Someone on the SMF forums had this same problem. He said it was probably haxor
That star icon is the same start you have under your profile name. Although it doesn't fit the Elements theme, it fits the forum theme. I might do something about it later but there are other more important things first. That lightning might work although I'm not sure if the white color will stand out enough.
"N users in chat" is another modification. "N users in chat" and those names under it are a package deal. I cannot get rid of only one without manually changing the code and I'm not going to do that at this point to avoid any issues. While I agree that the "N users in chat" is useless, the names are pretty good imo.
Yes, you are right about those code boxes. They are on my to-do-list.
Contrast between link, text and background is tricky because we are not using colors for that. Links are already max white and I cannot just make the body text darker because that would make it less readable. Best option would probably be to make the links
bold which I'm planning to try. As bold they will stand out much better even though the difference in contrast is relatively small.
Oh yeah and I fixed that last problem by removing the line where I was asking for replies.
