I lurked forever and eventually started posting. When I finaly did post I tried to make it in the spirit and in accordance with board .

This system of having to read the "read first" stuffs makes perfect sense to me and I agree 100% that  those should be read (obviously) .

How about using Elbirn's idea, but with the following warning.

"Please read the 'Read this First' post before posting a new topic. BREAKING THE RULES WILL LEAD TO YOU BEING PUNISHED."

If the noob insists in "reading the post" and make a horrible thread, then I say this should be a minor infraction.

While we're discussing this, I kinda feel like that board is due for a touchup anyhow; the rules thread seems awfully outdated, and the board doesn't seem to be very moderated. It'd be nice to set some kinda of mandatory standards for posts, keep one thread per card (I.E. merge or close all threads with the same card being discussed), etc.

Yeah.. The forums themselves just kind of need to have a complete sweep of updates.
