Now most topics I see these days refer you to some deck in the deck archives to select -- however, when I search for these topics for archived decks, I get nowhere. The search bar also is of little help. What I suggest is a stickied topic in each board, with the best rated decks archived in this stickied topic, on the first post. Keep it up to date for the past three versions, too.
A few things I see to improve:
1) I can never find the deck archives without extensive searching. As a n00b, this should be sufficiently easy, and thus the user interface must be changed to find it. What you think is easy by experience is not easy for the new guys.
2) When, or if, I ever DO find the archives, the decks listed are so old and have decks from back in ScaredGirl's day, talking about sundial nerfs. I think every so often the old topic can be moved to the graveyard or w/e, and update the topic every 3 updates or so. Maybe after like five updates, start a new topic so the conversation is fresh and the n00bies and track what's going on without having to lurk for years.
3) When I do browse the forums, I get blasted with tons of topics I don't really want to see. I can't speak for everyone, but I really don't care what deck you placed in Platinum. It's almost narcissistic that you think that I do -- and when the board is filled with these topics, I can never find a good deck to use. Sure, you can argue I should make my own, but I play the game casually and just want a great deck recommended, and I'll use it and have fun.
4) I think furthermore, you can create an entire forum board specifically designed for TOP decks, which are moved there, and once again, kept only up to a few versions in the past, barring maybe an ungodly efficient deck, like CC Why Bother? What I want is an archive that is a) easy to access, b) filled with pertinent, MODERN information, and c) uncluttered by the narcissism of the top ten ranked peoples. Honestly -- I don't care if you made an 80% generic deck and got rank 5 by changing ten cards.
