Well here's proof that guests can post in GD. Just in case anyone's wondering.


(I got this by logging out, pressing the reply button to a thread, and then print screening.)

I'm not sure if GE has any restrictions, something like the Farewell section can only be posted on by full members.

A while ago we had a huge forum bug overnight for reasons yet discovered. It messed up permissions across the entire forum, with people having access to all sorts of private forums and mod rights here and there. It took me a long time to fix all the access. Besides this one, which I fixed on the afternoon of the 5th, there might still be a few minor permission faults left. It would take far too long to go through all of them, so I fix them as they pop up.

Ooops, I heard some threads are open for gueats as well, probably it is only a gossip or bug indeed.

How about just leave a few threads (like the simple question thread) open to guests?

Unfortunately you can't currently give specific threads specific permissions in the normal Simple Machines permission sets. Only boards.
