It should be based on number of posts and number of topics you started. 1 point for each post, 3 for each topic. So basically in its current form it's just a different way to show posting activity.

187 posts + 11 topics = 210 points. I've got over 300.

Is this counting Forum Games too?

Something is wrong if I have more reputation than the Master of Darkness and a Tournament Organizer. If I remember right he has 0 and I have 1 at the moment.
Minor suggestion I won't mind if you ignore: Make certain earned titles give a reputation bonus.
This may not be possible but if it is I would be greatful. Shiny titles mean a lot to me.

When a new e-peen extention comes out, it's hard not to pay attention to it.

Why else would people by iPads the day they came out, rather than waiting a month or so for a few extra bucks, or just ditch the whole idea and grab a laptop?

Meh, reputation system atm seems slightly more screwed up than the karma system- in terms of points relative to actual intelligent output and contribution atm, meaning I lose out, since detailed responses to threads seem to be worth less than spam threads started, or effectively useless ones.
I can see some reputation spamming going on in the next few days though, should fix some stuff up.

And if not, I'll eventually stop worrying about my e-peen in a week or so.
Other people thinking a lot of you doesn't mean that much if the world already revolves around you : P

Reputation power shouldn't be given for having more posts. If possible rename Reputation power to Karma, it's a lot better.

You would think that sheer quantity is already expressed in the post count.

Remember, quality is vastly greater than quantity when it comes to this system.

Sure, you get credit for posting more, but me giving someone reputation is the equivalent of them posting 124 times.

Yeah the different nationalities and flags on the forum was a nice feature. I'd love to see that again!
