Section for other languages?! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=1479.msg13538#msg13538

I thought about this cause of the question for a multilingual chat.
According to my english-skillz i believe there are many users which are afraid to take part in an english-speaking forum.
probably newbees they cant speak english but are very interested in elements try learing by doing. perhaps a part in this forum where you see, "HERE YOU CAN WRITE IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE!", will be an attractive one. sure, anybody you cant speak english can try to ask in his own language in the help-part of this forum, but imho many users are shy or to lazy to try it, cause they think it wont be answered what they ask... whatever, see no cons for doing this... perhaps you can see in the stats how many not english-speaking users play elements, how necessary this will be.

just think about it  8)

I don't see this kind of thing having a huge demand but I have nothing against trying it out. I'll start a poll on this thread to see what other people think. If people say YES, I will make a new forum section under "Other Stuff". If people say NO, I will make a new child forum under "Off Topic" and we'll see how it goes.

Maybe just  have some of us translate the threads from Elements introduction in our language and have a sub for that?

I'm Chinese. But frankly, I don't think this is a good idea. What are the odds of non-English-speakers playing an English Flash game? Most people in other countries haven't even heard of Elements. My friend only knows about this game because I've told him about it, and I told him because I feel that his English skills were competent enough.

We don't really need anything for other languages, because Elements isn't that big of a game. Anyone who wants to play this game should know how to speak and read English.

there is a big difference between playing an english-speaking card-game and good skillz in english! i´m german... not very skillful with english... schoolenglish was soooo bad  :D but by playing card-games (like L5R) cause of wording etc you have to deal with english, but if i wouldnt have a good german-fanbase which support me... i never had to stay playing english card-games...
in other words... if there is only one person that could need help in such a form, i think its useful enough!

Well... If I lived in China and didn't come to Canada, I would never play a game in English.

if i see a card game, which has no support for my bad skillz in its language, but im very interested in cards or sth like that... i wont play it... and that, i think for the developers too, is not the intention for coding this game in english...

its common, but not for everyone... dont misunderstand me... im not searching for german wording in the game itself... im only asking for the cance for other people to ask questions, without looking for each word in leo.org...

Ok, lets do it like this:

I'll make a new Off Topic child forum called "Multilingual Discussion". We'll let it be there for a month. After that month we will see if there is truly a need for this kind of forum. And if there is a need, I will give "Multilingual Discussion" it's own parent forum. If the forum is dead, we'll delete it, and everyone has a chance to learn some English.

How's that?

Well I know that there are a lot of germans and Asiens playing. Being german myself I´ve talked to alot of nativs via chat, though Germans are one group that I know of where it  doesn´t matter wich language . Aside from the horrendus writing skills. :-[
