I was just looking in the fordge and crucible sections. and it became aware to me that our biggest issue is that. the threadsfor the most part are forgotten

how can we keep the discussions going after they go into the voting system?

Terrible idea to force activity that I despise even as I'm thinking of it, but I'm gonna say it anyway: In order to have your cards accepted, you are required to vote in the polls. Meaning:

1. Those who spamspamspam terrible card ideas won't get anywhere with them because they won't put forth the effort to even contribute to the voting process
2. More people voting

Why this is a bad idea

1. It is.
2. Why did I even post this?
3. You can't actually tell who voted and who didn't (Seriously do I think any of my ideas out, or do I just spew senseless verbal diarrhea whenever I open my mouth)

If nothing else maybe this'll get people talking again

Just so long as you don't spamspamspam terrible ideas its fine, although you may want to try brainstorming to come up with a better idea.
