"Add an extra RoF in that deck."
"How many SoGs do you have?"
"45 % winrate against FGs."

Abbreviations. They greatly help in communication between members of the forum, make replies faster, and help create a community as a whole. However, sometimes, noobs have no idea what these mean, and even pros forget sometimes.

Thus, I request a stickied thread somewhere, explaining common abbreviations. This:
http://elementsthegame.wikia.com/wiki/Jargon
can get us started. :)

Discuss.

I tried to get quanta shortened to Q but nobody was going with it.

I thought the whole point of the abbreviations was to confuse the noobs anyways.

As someone who is new to the site, if you actually play elements and pay attention, it isn't hard to pick up on what things mean. (FFQ and FG, for example.) Most of them are obvious. Some, however, do require a moment or two of thought.

True; what I find frequently, however, is that people tend to ask before they think. They ask the community what a certain something means, when a bit of thought can reveal the answer. Everyone is effected by this; it is simply easier to ask the community a question than to answer it yourself. And we can eliminate the need for that by having a thread dedicated to explaining these abbreviations.

Well, a topic certainly wouldn't hurt anyone. The reason FFQ was up in my last post, was because I remember it actually gave me a bit of trouble and was one that required thinking to figure out.  I myself was ready to ask, but I figured I'd figure it out on my own, so kept it to myself.

:) Yay! Now all we need to do is catch the attention of Scaredgirl or some other mod, and we can make a stickied thread somewhere. Whoohoo!

I don't see why you couldn't make it yourself, or someone else. Generally if a thread is helpful enough, it would get stickied regardless of who made it.

Not sure where it would go, though. That's the main problem. "General Discussion"? "Newbie Tutorials?" :P

I think it fits more in General Discussion, but if it were in Newbie Tutorials it wouldn't need to be stickied; since there aren't many topics in there to begin with.

I think Newbie Turorials is the best place myself. That way they know automatically where to focus on if they have a question.
