[Chat] Make the Announcement Section at the top of the Chat Page stand out more.

I don't pretend to be an IRC wizard, but I was wondering if one of the most important parts of the chat room could be made to be more impressionable. This hazy-grey font really isn't cutting it, and often gets lost in peripheral vision. Especially considering that you're often looking at the bottom of the page.

Not saying it isn't there, but I've seen many cases of people just not noticing it.

Any ideas?

Nothing we can do unless someone builds a custom irc client. Pretty much all we can do is make it all caps and hope people notice it better.

Using mIRC, you can type in color, though I'm not sure if that'd translate into the topics to make them color as well (I can ask Viney when he gets on, as I'm not that 1337.

You can make it color, bold, underlined, make it an announcement every x minute and make it display every time you enter the channel as well (in private to the person that enters). I wouldn't suggest the underlining, and bold might be overboard as well x)

Chat announcements are now colourful and fabulous!


There's still a dark teal colour that could be replaced by something a little more vibrant like a light green, but otherwise, excellent work.
