Newbie's KOTH ( Need good players! ) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=16857.msg215543#msg215543
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:52:10 am »
Ok I just decided this should be done for a few reasons.
1. Newbies need rares the most as they have none when they start, or only 1 after getting a score of 500+.
2. Even if you are not a newbie not everyone has the rares and upgrades required for certain top 50 decks like the decks in the first KOTH.
3. Personal interest. ( I want to find the best deck myself. )

Rules
No rares, no upgraded cards.
The winner will be decided based off winning percent Overall profit. ( You play until you play 100 non farms. Keep track of the number of farms and non farms you play. This will make things easier. )
The deck must have a TTW of 9 or less. ( This is a link to the Turns to win study http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,8813.0.html )

Winning deck will be decided based off profit! ( Winning percentage, starting score/electrum, and ending score/electrum will be kept track of. )

Life rush, Lava golem rush, and Shriker rush is what I want to test first. As it is saturday I will wait. If someone would like to help test decks please say so as I am sure many doubt my skill. I would like someone that is well known for this skill in the game.

DUE TO REAL LIFE I WILL NOT BE ONLINE MUCH THIS WEEK!
We need players to play these decks! Message me for details!

I think it would be extremely helpful if you kept track of initial electrum/score and final electrum/score.  This along with TTW values should provide a good estimate of which is the best grinder.  Also, keep track of the number of farms you face, skip spins, and deduct the amount of electrum/score you get from beating that farm from your total (if you want to do it that way, that is).

Ah yes, I forgot about that.
Yes farms will be skipped don't worry. Score and electrum I/whoever test the deck will gain from farms will not be counted.
Oh yes and I personaly will keep track on paper the results so keeping farm score and electrum out of the results  will be easy.

Wait I thought life rush was frogs with ads, is this not double dragon? Either way I would like to test a deck next week so if nothing else comes up that looks to have promise I will test this against a life rush, lava rush, or shriker rush.

Lol, i dunno, this deck was said to be life rush, i just made it starter friendly. I guess this is life dragon rush/possibly EM?

@ Lukce: I will see if we can get that deck without the arsenic in this KOTH, K?
@ Tom: It don't matter, what the topic is called I will name the deck that, though the owner of the deck should ok this.

Sure Dono, I have no problem with Grabbix being included.

I think a hammer can work well instead the arsenic :)
Yep.  A hammer may be the best option.

Ok replace the arsenic with a hammer then.
So I will have grabbix vs The dragon rush/double dragon, shriker rush, lava golem rush, or life rush in the first round.

Now we need people to play these decks after top 50 updates, ( Sunday I believe ) so who wants in? You will have saturday to play 100 non farm games and record the data needed. If no one steps forward then I myself shall give it a try. :P

You have to record every game and keep track of total game won and lost, total score gain, and total electrum gained, and total EM's. Also TTW.
1. Wins and losses. ( add EM's while your at it. Also don't count farms.  )
2. Score and electrum gained. ( Don't count farms. Record all games and note on who farms are and subtract them from the total in score and electrum gained when all is said and done. If you have a better way please share. )
3. Keep track of how many turns it takes to win each non-farm game. Then add them together and divide by 100. ( 100 games total or else you would add by the number of games you played. )

I am not a math person myself so if I missed anything or could do something better please feel free to call me dumb and tell me how to do it better. lol

Also those that will test the decks should be fairly well known for playing skills. If you trust yourself to not make a major misplay often then feel free to ask to be a tester.

Variant on a really old stall bolter, I forget the originator:
Code: [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f6 5f6 5l8 5l8 5l8 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rrTactic's to wait 50 or so health before using sundials, draw as much as possible, only use fire bolts on creatures if they're high priority, etc. Sundials can help stall out some rush decks, and lack of monsters can disrupt some compositions.

I'd offer to play, but I've got Electrum grinding on my mind more than Top 50 grinding lately.

Seeing as this week's already occupied, I guess this will be for the next week.
