I'd totally be kept busy grinding with one of my alts and getting a piece of the action myself.

Yeah, a tournament of some sort would be a nice idea, but the problem of course is how to arrange such an event in order to make it happen.  It's easy enough to inform those who use this forum, but what about those who don't?  I know that some T50 members (i.e. chaoz) have never signed up or posted anything on the forums.  Based on that factor it would make such a thing difficult to transpire.

Well it's going to be impossible to get every single t50 member to participate, for that reason mainly, but also because some just won't want to do it. There will most likely be a sign-up sheet of sorts to advocate for this.

Ever since I started the game, I always thought asking top50 people to put up farms and stuff was just plain ridiculous. People say they have to return something to the community.... um... wha? Did the community help them in any way to reach that high score? I highly doubt it.

People should be just satisfied with what top50 has to offer now, instead of requesting stuff to be done. And I'm not saying this because I'm a permanent t50 now; it just has to do with thanking those people who voluntarily put up farms.

Just FYI, the very reason I have managed to accumulate my score is because of the advice given to me by the community.  Just because that isn't how you did it by no means it is impossible otherwise.

this will be voluntary and most likely will have a sign-up thing

instead of before or after the weekend tourney (better before if this is the case since you wont know when a tourney end) i'd suggest doing so right after the score reset for the week i.e. an hour after Sunday oracle reset (8AM GMT if i'm not mistaken) because due to the excessive number of multies, hackers and whatnot it is hard to get the best condition to which T50 is 'clean'
but mostly because i'm at the lowest cutoff point for T50 nowadays (180k score)
