If it's immaterial, then I'd suggest changing its upgraded version. 1|2 vs 1|4 in case of immaterial doesn't seem like that much of a difference, as it only gives a bit more protection against exactly 2 cards (Thorn and Fire shields).

Yeah bioluminescence would be a good idea here.  This could be a fun card in a hope deck.

actually, a lot of cards don't have great difference with upgrade

I've considered  bioluminescence, but a card cannot include too many skills

anyway, I think it will be quite difficult for programming to define the adjacent creatures

But most of them have enough difference to start making you seriously consider the upgrade.

Not neccesarily. For each slot, just a list of slot numbers, that are considered adjacent.

For you - maybe. For a programmer who already wrote online game with twisted rules and 100's of thousands (or is is millions?) of players - doubtful. :)

ya, different from flooding,
this is a creature and can be placed at different slot
so the adjacent creatures will also shift

No creature ever changes its slot after being played. The slot numbers are fixed. They are just scattered across the board, so their placement and adjacency is not trivial, but it's still fixed.

alright, here is a little scenario i worked out for those who know the game well enough to do it

              *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *
                *  *  *  *  *  *  *
              *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

if you want your attacks to be more spread out, and consequently, more likely to hit through fog/dusk, your going to want virgos in the red spots
your then going to want to use something like aflatoxin on a spark. sparks instintly die, so a second MC will spawn immediately.
now, the trick with this though, is keeping the spots you dont want your virgos in filled. once you get your virgos in the right spots, your going to gain a MASSIVE amount of attack per turn. and the growth is widespread, so you wont have to worry about those 2 pesky shields
my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "its better than yours" damn right, its better than yours! i can teach you but i'd have to charge!

It can create some funny scenario
Sparks surrounding Virgo don't die at end of turn
