is it stackable? this can combo pretty well with shields like permafrost carapace and fire buckler

When not stacking it is more or less a fire shield to both players that doesnt affect death creatures. It would likely not be used outside a death mono, so essentially its a fire shield that doesnt take up the shield slot but may not hurt some opponents, for the same cost.

i think the cost is fine if not too cheap, if we compare it to fire shield and thorn carapace unupped, and the fact that this aint a shield at all

Yes. Immaterial only protects it from targeting effects including mass targeting effects. Non-targeting effects bypass the immaterial defense.
