Can players be targeted? That could get a little out of hand with fractal if so.

Interesting effect. Seems a little too powerful when comboed with fractal or mitosis though.

Once a few are on the field, they start getting very hard to kill (like scarabs), and provide a massive CC capacity.
This is probably a fair amount stronger than scarabs.

Scarabs must grow larger than their food so as to devour them in 1 gulp. With these you can gang them up to take down much larger targets, albeit at the cost of a few of your own creatures.

The concept is kinda cool, but balancing may take some work.

Yes, it can target the Player, but at 5|4 a pop, it'll be pretty expensive for Mitosis or Fractal to pump out a sufficient number to make CC good enough.  Although a :death trio might make it more feasible...

Ignoring fractal, I think the card is fine.  It's reasonably costed, has a useful but not OP effect, and I could see myself using them in a deck.  With fractal, though, it might get kind of crazy, although they do get smaller with each use.  For example, six of these would deal 21 damage, and it would take 14 to pass the magic 100 damage mark.  I'd have to see it in action to be sure, though.

Two ways to fix the fractal problem (if it is a problem) would be either to not allow player targeting, or to change the activation element to something nonair (and nonaether) so that you'd need to do at least a trio to make it work.

Also, I'd imagine that reflective/emerald shield would reflect the damage if done to a player.

That would probably be a decent fix to the fractal problem. I would suggest to exclude water as well (since SoP could be abused too easily like that)
Now that SoR costs :time , the Mitosis abuse shouldn't be a potential issue anymore.

This seems really cool though. As it can't be spammed by a creature like Pharaoh, and it's ability requires it to kill itself, and it doesn't have high attack, I think it's balanced.
