You seem to be struck with inspiration, moose.

So it's like a Mindgate for spells, except that it trades off the ability cost and +1  for a percent chance and the cost of the spell itself. Sounds good to me.

aye, a little like mindgate, but with a passive effect rather than "gimme! ...click." also being on a timer and with out activation costs so that you can have several in a deck without putting them all out at once and burning through your quanta to copy cards.

Works well with aether I think.  Thematically and mechanically.  Very interesting.

That's a pretty good card   I think I'd make it affect both players for balance; it might be too strong if one-sided.  Also, it should not copy other spellstones cast, otherwise you could basically circumvent the 'lasts 3 turns' clause, with a moderately kind RNG.

spellstones arent spells, i think you may have misunderstood the card a little bit.  it is restricted to spells.

would this be better if it were an activated ability, costing or to generate the last played spell, or a random spell, on demand?

I think the randomness is good. I wouldn't make it an activated ability unless it also had the fail chance. I think it's good as is personally. 25% means that it might not copy any spells, but even so this would go into any deck that would run 4+ copies of lightning. Specially for arena submitted decks.

After thought on this card. "IF" people think this is OP as is, then I would suggest it coming into play time bubbled (don't know the correct term) so that it has one turn of PC before it can be used. Again thats only if it's OP.

With this we can make mono OTK decks! Just stall with dim shield until you have 75 quanta, play one of these, (72 quanta left) And then lightning the crap out of your opponent.
