I don't know.  I think you should probably lower the cost for the upgrade, not make it block more.  The effect would end up making it very, very easy to abuse.  Especially against a swarm deck.  The upgrade is essentiall a titanium/quantum pillar x2.  Seems too good to keep things somewhat fair.

I disagree about lowering the quanta cost for the upgraded version, since this would anyway be used mainly in rainbows, and when quanta of all elements is equally valuable, 6 :rainbow is pretty close to jack sh*t. You win the coin toss get 2 quantum towers in your opening hand and there you go, 2 DR and decent quanta generation all before the opponent knows whats even going on. This card would be a great way to gain extra quanta when you can't draw pillars or they're getting earthquaked all the time.
