NOTES:
This thing has summoning sickness each time it is resummoned, so it constantly has 1 turn of alternating vulnerability. However, if you time it right, you can master the skill, and basically make it a slower but more powerful Phoenix-based ability.
Example: It starts out 3|1. I play Nevermore, and it dies later. It becomes a 4|2. I cast Nevermore. Now, even if it dies by poisoning, meaning it would have become 4|1 in the process just before dying, it will still come back as a 5|3 creature, since it basically counts up invisible counters that determine how many stat bonuses it gains per death.

cool idea, What makes this balanced, is that the ability requires activation.
I am assuming that once the ability is activated, it remains activated until it dies? I like this  :P

This is an attribution to my favorite poet of all time. Edgar Allan Poe. The card that inspired this is somewhere in the depths of the smithy. This is where it comes from: Dark Poet | Cursed Poet (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,14796)

Nah. Dark Poet | Cursed Poet is just too specific. Introducing a card that has both the ability to produce a growth/phoenix type creature, as well as double poison immaterial is just too much. I'll let this work as a standalone card, for now.

love this card is like a "kill me" condor.
and got great synergy with condor and parasite.
find it completely balanced as it can be rewinded, lobotomised, devoured (if the oty if bigger that this it will grow too and be able to eat it when vulnerable), and also except for panda, rain of fire, unstable gas, and others why would the opp. kill it. wich means you got to pack and waste cc.

Well, I would like to use this instead of FFQ to feed my Otyugh: Nevermore. Devour. Repeat. Both cards grow, and the Bone Wall is happy.
Problem is that it leaves the Raven vulnerable to CC... Which is a good thing, otherwise it would be OP ;)

Killing the Raven yourself is a waste of cards and/or quanta: e.g., with Raven and Owl's Eye, you would need 2 :air and 2 :death to grow it by +1|+1 every turn... Not that good. And the opponent will probably not kill the raven either. This makes the Raven very Gargoyle-like: it has a duo-skill that, once activated, make it very unlikely that it will be killed, and is otherwise nearly useless. But in comparison to Gargoyle, it seems slightly UP: I would go for a skill cost of 1 unupped, and an attack of 4 upped.

That's a great card. NeverFurthermore, Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite poets, close to Rimbaud.

@Flayne How good are you at drawing birds?
for me, birds aren´t that hard to draw, its only the feathery detail that really takes up the time if I wanted to draw a bird with high quality detail.
If I have time, I may do the art for this card if that is ok with Nepycros  :)

how would this work if I blessed the bird then used the ability, then it died, would it have 7|5, or 4|2?
