Sigh this has been discussed before, water has its purifying parts yes, but this card was an attempt to focus on another aspect of fire not commonly seen reflected in cards.

I do actually think looking into the shard idea might be nice. I think I'll work on it.

napalm, i think it is ok to to put removing status ability in fire elements.... physically it may seems destructive in nature.... but spiritually fire is associated with healing as well..... maybe we can change its name..... ''healing warmth'' or something?? and i am wondering no shards are made for fire elements yet..... perhaps we can based on this???
That doesn't seem like a good idea given this card's theme.  Switching this a to a "Shard of Burning" or "Shard of Purification" or something similar seems to make it able to conflict with other elements (such as :life :water :light :aether ) even more, IMHO, since it's effect is helpful to the creatures it targets.

I would agree with switching the card to Water, but it feels like doing so would just give Water another niche antistatus card where this could easily be merged with Purify if it was :water . I'd think dealing 1 damage to the target would probably improve the connection to fire, though. (And to be fair, Fire's going to hurt you if you use it to cleanse yourself.)

Perhaps remove all status effects or negative stat changes (easy enough: if current hp<full hp or current atk<full atk set to full atk/full hp), while adding a burn counter that burns 1 hp from full hp per turn. Since the only way to heal a creature is Archangel or Holy Light atm, this would basically be the same as poisoning it for debuffs. I think that should be relatively balanced considering LS.

So something along the lines of
 :fire:rainbow
Reset target creature and apply 1 burn counter.

TBH im all for the other cost on the up, I've wanted another card like fly.

Unfortunately this undoes some of the ideas I had with the card.
1 combo was this+liquid shadow for a no drawback vampire ability.

Adding the damage also makes this very near to useless on low HP creatures(thus why I didn't want the damage in the first place)

My other issue is I had another idea for burn counters that I'm currently working on.

Siiiigh... what to do, what to do

i like fire but i do not always associate it with destruction..... we have a lot of fire cards based on destruction and being a glass cannon already... fire is also some sort of strength and protection.. the healing i mention is not referring to using fire to burn or cure wounds ( unless u are talking about moxibustion but yet again the herb does not burn you)..but  i am relating fire to strength and healing as figurative or metaphor.... i think it is nice to have a change for a while....

i am even planning to make an idea about some fire cards that protect the creature( something like momentum or quint) but i am still thinking of the idea......the card will protect the creature from receiving any effect for a few turns.... still thinking about it though

I'm against the burn counter idea. I understand that Fire can be cleansing, but don't tell me that cleaning yourself with Fire is going to be painless. However, removing the status only to die later seems... well... stupid. Minor burns upon cleansing yourself seems perfectly legitimate to me.

This card does not thematicaly complete fire. Yes, fire can be associated with the religious idea of purgatory, of removing away of one's imperfections before one is allowed into heaven, but  that is more like  :light. EtG's concept of fire is all about damage and power.

Anyways, there are already existing cards in the game that do reflect the positive aspect of fire you are trying to integrate so your card does not necessary 'complete' fire as you aim to. Phoenix has the ability of rebirth, but that comes after destruction. Rage potion grants strength, but at the sacrifice of health. Seraph has immortality, but only after a turn of great vulnerability. Without a similar sacrifice, Purifying fire will look awkward and fit more into light. Perhaps instead of a burn counter you can just say deal 2 damage or something. Fire is not an subtle element that works with decay over time. It kills immediately and suddenly.

well i stand corrected.... now that you mention it this could fit light better.... i just do not like the idea of putting burn counter to use this card.... but perhaps damaging the creature for a few hp could be ok .....we can still stop the creatures from dying due to statuses...
