Seems unnecessary when Cremation decks already are among the most powerful. In fact, it would be completely OP in an unupped Phoenixbow. Completely and utterly. Much worse than the extra speed it would add to upped.

Why, is it too cheap?

I'm not saying that it needs to cost this much, if it's too fast I can just up the cost a little.

You literally can't balance this in any way. 12 Phoenixes in play, where most of them pay for themselves via Cremation and Fire mark is insanely overpowered. Phoenixbows are already one of the best PvP decks there are.

As for upped, assuming it got a cost of 1, it would only be marginally better than playing an MP right away. Do Cremation decks need to be better? Hell no.

I don't get the mechanism behind this. Why does it turn into a phoenix after it is destroyed? How about "After Phoenix Egg survives X* turns, it hatches into a Phoenix."?

The idea is that the Phoenix egg has to go through intense heat in order to hatch.

@Higs, that's not to say that Cremate decks will always run dominant. Cards will come out in the future that will let other decks be on par or even better than them. The best way to balance this mechanic, of course, is to release other cards that help preserve the balance the game.

While it may not be needed at this specific moment in time, I'm sure you can agree it is a fun idea and has possibilities in the future at least.

But you know. Sometimes, the heat can be too much as well. Especially since it is an egg, it has no ability to survive under this circumstance.

But it's a Phoenix egg.
That's like saying a water elemental would drown if you push it into the ocean.

Anyways, It's a card made from mechanic, not from theme. It doesn't have to make sense. Plenty of cards make little to no sense already.

i'd say the cost needs to be 4 :fire | 1 :fire

i've gone through super top secret mathematical formulae and come up with that number for something similar
trust me, its a winning number(s)

Please PM me the formulae if you are serious.

I think that Fractal (I know, I know, everyone has heard it before) + Rain of Fire is abnormally powerful in this case.

best case scenario (with the 4|1 cost)

Unupped
Cost: 10 :aether + 28 :fire + 7 :fire
Result: 1RoF + 7x 7|1
Cost reduction from normal fractal: 21 :fire

Upgraded
Cost: 9 :aether + 7 :fire + 5 :fire
Result: 1RoF + 7x 4|1
Cost reduction from normal fractal: 7 :fire

The only way RoF will hit this card is if the opponent casts it so it'd be their fault. In fact, fractalling this card does almost nothing unless you plan on bolting and cremating a whole lot.
