Whenever possible, it's better to just handwave it rather than forcing a thematic justification.
Besides, this card already have plenty of counters already, removing one of the less used won't hurt the balancing.

SoSa Miracle:
1. SoSa inverts all damage to healing.
2. Miracle heals for (Max HP - current HP - 1)
3. SoSa inverts the healing from Miracle (damage for Max HP - Current HP - 1)
Mechanic is still holds true.

Immortals + SoW:
1. Immortals are "level 2" targetting creatures.
2. Currently Quint and stuff increases creature from "level 1" targetting (not immortals) into "level 2"
3. SoW can only target Level 2 targetting, most of the stuff can only target Level 1 targetting. Shield can affect any level.
Mechanic still holds true.

I meant to use this more as a programming-wise example than an actual mechanic/theme comparison. Zanz specfically designed the Miracle + SoSa interaction to maintain the mechanic + theme, which is why I referenced it.

I'm aware of this mechanic, and to be fair, this implementation was done recently. Past cards that targeted Immaterial creature usually were shot down due to said Gameplay and Story Segregation, and the original Shard of Wisdom by moomoose was an Eclipse-style permanent IIRC.  Someone who didn't know about the game code could still point out  it doesn't make sense to target an immaterial card when all other cards must specifically not target it to interact with it.

Out of curiosity, does this really apply to every case? Plenty of concepts such as the Arbitrary Headcount Limit are flat out ignored instead of being handwaved and technical limitations are to a degree a (meta)justification rather than a handwave. Forcing a more solid justification can potentially immerse players better than the flimsy handwave IMHO, though both are equally subject to shattering suspension of disbelief if done blatantly enough.

Holy Flash... I don't know about that one.  That's tricky.
This thing seemed dead inside. It seemed like an automaton, trying to act like as if it was alive. The effect was unsettling.
Orianna made a sound that supposed to a girl's squeal of glee and hugged The Ball. While it might have been touching, it was unfortunately only horrifying.

Less specific exception = better.
As for interaction with Miracle was because old Miracle set your HP to Max - 1, thus excluded from healing IIRC.

One thematic justification is that Holy Light doesn't affect this creature because it has special power as specified in the card text. Either stronger aura, resistant to holiness, etc. Of course, it's just a weak justification.

I would discuss more, but unfortunately, i'm on mobile right now. It's uncomfortable to type here.

Holy light hates death and anything deathly and should kill this creature in one fell swoop of it powerful light ray attack.

But silliness aside, I think it should. Seeing that the use of holy light is to kill any dark or death creature immediately (unless it's too tough like gargoyle or voodoo doll), this is rather a mechanic that was not taken into account in the design of the holy light card when this makes it into the game. So the mechanic of holy light should be altered a bit to kill this creature.

Spoiler for Off topic:
Kill all the death creatures unless holy light gets a revamp!
Not so active.

What is the reasoning behind 'immune to status effects'?

Holy Flash is so lame anyway, it'd be nice to give it a small pretence at usefulness :)

i.e.: kill the zombie!

What is the reasoning behind 'immune to status effects'? Prevents Gravity Pull abuse. Revenant can't die from damage, so it effectively makes the game unlosable if it gets GP.

The poll seems to favor the theme and have Holy Light kill this card, so it will stay that way for the time being.
