Figured out another strategy-
Strategy 3 - Anti Nightmare
If you opponent uses nightmare and his cards of of his mark, you can counter it by playing them. Alternatively if he chooses to nightmare your own cards the Pendula generate quantum of your mark as well, so you can play your own cards too.

Mindgate, Anti Nightmare, ...

So far, though, this card does suffer from the old "Purify syndrome," save for the Mindgate tactic, which IMO is less effective than advertised, since you're already drawing the pillars/immolations/etc. your opponent does.  This card seems inherently geared toward the metagame - which could change, if some new things are implemented, but I just don't see much use for it in the status quo.  I hate to give purely negative feedback without a suggestion of how to solve things, but my brain is fried from the Meta tournament and good old-fashioned fatigue...

It's alright. I'm currently thinking how to rework the card or strengthen the current argument backing it up. Alongside multitasking it's not exactly a cake walk.

i like the unupped, the upped should give you a quanta of your opponents mark when played.

its a good card, but its not overpowered, it does have some good uses. Crusader is another one.

That's makes 3 different strategies that are currently playable in the game without specific PvP event rules. Thanks for the suggestion on possible uses!

I know that. I already tried to fit it on the card text and I can't, so I had to try to find a different upgrade ability for the pendula. Considering that this pendulum is more situational than others I don't see why 2 quantum from the opponent is a bad thing.

I know i didn't even comment on this, but i've been following it. This takes my vote in the Crucible over many things currently there, so at least one Crucible vote is guaranteed.

+ fractal (which is like deliberate anti-nightmare)
+ steal/TU (anything with activation cost)
+ mitosis in combination with any of the above

I apologize if this has been mentioned in another thread and/or if it strays too far from your original idea. I thought about this while reading your idea and some of the responses in this thread.

What if the card effectively switched your mark with your opponent's mark. It would have to be a permanent instead of a pillar, and would function as both quanta production and quanta denial, albeit very situational. If played early it would severely hurt decks that rely only on their mark for a specific type of quanta.

Something like:

Unupped
When a mark generates quanta, the opposing player steals 1 quanta of that mark.

Upped
Generate 1 quanta of each player's mark. When a mark generates quanta, the opposing player steals 1 quanta of that mark.
