With that out of the way, I felt this needed to be filled out a tad more.

Yes, I realize that this is a tad situational.  But it is just as situational as Hope, and seeing as that's going to be removed, why not milk Bioluminescence for a bit more.  Especially in the offensive side.

The higher costs come from the fact that :light can and will generate enough quanta in the situation this will be used.  So to prevent simply spamming it with a combo like the one below, it has been raised to slightly discourage that.

Graveyard > Ray of Light > Light Flux > Luciferase > Light Flux

Speaking of which, it is the only spell that I know of that will create controllable mass death effects on your side, so there is that to be wary of.

It can still target specific creatures, as with the bolt spells..

Besides the fact that insta-kill cards are generally frowned upon this seems pretty overpowered. Especially the cost.
Personally, I don't very much like that mechanic, but if you were going to modify it, I would suggest upping the price, perhaps having it drain all light quanta.

I'm probably going a bit overboard, but I dislike insta-kills.

EDIT:Sidenote: cool art, cool name, and now that I think about it, not a bad mechanic. Not necessarily a great one, but not bad.

I really don't see how this is an insta-kill per se.  At optimal conditions (RoL > Fractal > Boneyard > Time Flux > Luciferin > Time Flux), it deals... oh, 92.  But considering the nature of this strategy, reaching this state isn't exactly easy to get to.  Unless I'm missing something...

And I was considering draining quanta, but Light already has Miracle, so there's that.

Edit:  I forgot to include that it only targets the owner's creatures...

TBH, it doesn't seem powerful at all. It feels quite UP since you have to sacrifice a light emitting creature for only 2 damage.

Oh, only yours? Well that changes everything. Now I see it as UP.
By insta-kill I meant by way of creatures, that it instantly killed the creatures.
This seems very situational, and even in the best situation it's good, but by that time you've already got your opponent beaten(most likely)

In my opinion, it's just as situational as Hope.

As I previously mentioned, I saw it used with Fractal RoL or maybe FFQ (unupped, mind you).  But in the case of the latter, I do see how it would seem rather pointless since it deals more damage just by attacking.  Would it be better off at 3 damage per Creature?

This could go well with RoL/Hope by using this to finish the enemy off once they are on low health.

 I actually think it is pretty powerful and NOT just with RoL/Hope decks. FFQ decks can also create an army of kamikaze Fireflies with Light Flux, let alone Unstable Gases are in the same element with Fireflies and a combination of upped and unupped FFQs and Fireflies with UG and LF in the same deck could be deadly. Luciferin also becomes OP with this card, lol. Imagine a deck full of Skeletons, Graveyards, Luciferins and Light Fluxes.
 Actually, I don't think it is OP, since Hope shield loses power with each LF played and 3 damage per creature is like Fractaling 3|0 Sparks that deal spell damage, something not very great. I would have voted for this idea, but there are other ideas I like slightly more than this one.

make it destroy all creatures with bioluminescence in general. cause why not. althoughhhhhh with boneyard and skeletons and luci being free i think upped, might be powerful. at least worthy of a deck so that's probably a good thing :)

The forge is the third stop in the Card Idea and Art polling system.

[Note in the section tree how this thread is in Level 2 - Forge.]

By being in the Forge, it has already survived one round of votes in the Crucible and now competes, in this case, against other Spell ideas to make it to Level 3 - Armory.

Yes.  But the Reliquary are the card ideas that have been implemented into the game.  Everything else just moves up the ranks.
