NOTES:
You think getting rid of a Phoenix / Minor Phoenix is hard? How about a permanent (weapon) that turns into that pesky critter when destroyed? 'Destroyed' here comes from the spell Deflagration / Explosion or effect from creature or permanent with the ability 'destroy'. The cost is half of the original creature spell, rounded up.

Additional notes:
This weapon is a rare.
Flying sword stats: 7|1 (unupgraded) and 4|1 (upgraded)

Does it work the same when flying?
I like the idea.

Very good question!

I supposed getting 'killed' (the original wording of Phoenix / Minor Phoenix) can be considered destroyed but only the developer can code it to act that way. If it were up to me, then yes, killed as flying weapon = destroyed and thus leaving you with another form of creature.

What? Someone other than Napalm made a phoenix-related card? :o

Jokes aside, I'm afraid it might be too cheap- The unupped version is like an eagle's eye without the CC- 5 :air for 7 damage + reusable CC vs 4 :fire for 7 + creature summon upon destruction. And that's upped vs unupped. On the other hand... darkness has an unupped weapon with 4 damage and vampire, for 1 :darkness... The unupped should have cost +1, at least. The upped is harder to say, because of potential comparison with both fahrenheit and vampire stiletto.

comparing ~this~ to eagle's eyes is like comparing apples and oranges

darkness has 1 :darkness weapon with 8 life tradeof (12 upped), get your fact straight
and fahrenheit 'fiery' damage is uncapped

another apples and oranges...no, lets make it honeydew this time
i like honeydew

I compared it to eagle's eye because of A) damage and B) cost. I also took into account the abilities, though fireblade's ability may or may not be as strong as EE's.

As for fahren and stiletto, I compared it to them because of, again, damage and cost. Fahren is very good in a quanta-heavy deck, like firestall, but in a quanta-intensive deck, it's not that good. The stiletto is 8 life tradeoff, yes- I do believe I mentioned it has vampire (damage inflicted is returned as healing)- and the same cost, while fireblade is more resistant to destruction... so yeah, upped seems fine. Unupped, though, I still think is too cheap, since it's the same damage as an upped weapon for less quanta, even if it isn't CC-on-a-stick. (if anything, it's the opposite)

It should turn into Ash of the corresponding upgrade when destroyed, not straight into a phoenix.  Also, I think the cost should match that of its phoenix counter-part.
Are you tired of those old boring rushes? Well look no further!

There's already Morning Glory dealing the same amount of damage, but it's indestructible in the first place.. As far as :fire weapons go, Fahrenheit deals more damage than this by far, and it could easily be "enchanted". Why would you want it to turn into a creature? And why would someone target it knowing it had this effect..?

The only way I see this card as useful would be if the word "destroyed" included being replaced with another weapon, in which case, you could spam these and Cremate them to play the rest. Otherwise.. I don't see why this card is winning the Mash-Up contest. Not that my card is any better, but this one just seems a little pointless.

I don't hate it; I'm just confused as to why it's so favorable over others.

Question: Would you stealing it from yourself trigger this?
After all, steal is just a systematic destroy and generate card.
