I like the idea, but I'm not entirely sure that a symbol makes a good Creature.

I think it could do with lowering to 6 based on how few cards it protects from currently.

Kind of doing the reverse of the Battering Ram debate. To prevent the lockdown of Jarl+PA, it's for now a creature

Nightmare isn't really changing ownership of anything, though. As you say, it's an addition to the hand. Does this mean having a jarl in play would block me from trying to use PU/Fractal, for example? What about RT? I'd also expect something like devourer draining quanta to be part of an 'ownership changing effect' but it isn't, here. The wording and the effect don't seem to match up.

Ownership refers to card ownership.
Your quanta is not a card, thus it is not affected/protected.
Nightmare gives you cards that are not yours, thus it should be prevented.
RT does not change the ownership - it was your card, it remains your card.
PU/Fractal on your own card does not change the ownership - original was yours, new one(s) is (are) yours.
PU/Fractal on opponent's creatures is more problematic. On one hand you get a copy, not the original, so it should be fine. On the other hand you do gain ownership of a foreign card, so not fine.

I'd say it shall block PU/Fractal altogether. Everyone should be able to decide which one (Pu/Fractal or Jarl) they want to use in their deck.

The same isue occurs as with Fractaling the opponent's card, just in reverse. Technically what you get, while not the opponent's card, it's not your card either...so, just as it blocks Fractal altogether, it blocks Nightmare altogether (when it comes to your hand - you can still use it on opponent if they don't have Duke)

Hmmm... I think having this thing affect PU, and especially fractal and nightmare is stretching the meaning of "ownership" a bit much. The card created is not foreign because when created it is the property of the player it is created for.
I can kind of see it in the case of PU because it is a carbon copy of the card, but nightmare and fractal are making new cards from the base version of the target.
In either case, there is no transfer or change of ownership of a card instance taking place. The player does not lose control of the card that is targeted.

I'm not saying the idea of thwarting PU, fractal, nightmare, etc. is bad, I just think putting those mechanics under 'ownership' changing is too much of a thematic stretch.

Adding PU and Fractal were more of a late night reaction than any form of design element, so they can be removed just as easily as they have been added.
Nightmare is a bit iffy, but considering how already has Sanctuary for that, it could be removed as well.

You could, of course, extend it naturally by changing it to read ownership changing and replication

(P.S. I would vote yes on the poll because it makes the card more useful, but a wording change would be needed to avoid confusion amongst players)
