What exactly does upgrading do to this? Random upped effect doen't mean much besides mutation.

its in the notes already

"Serum Injection is similar to mutate, in that it can cause negative side effects, such as poison, aflatoxin or death.  However, it is probably more likely to cause the addition of adrenaline, momentum, vampire or an increase in attack power, hit points, or both.  There is also a decent chance at causing a mutation.  The exact likelihoods of each potential outcome are impossible to know at this point.

Serum Dose is similar to improve, with the chance to have a negative outcome being infinitesimally small.  It is far more likely to generate one or two of the positive potential effects of the injection."

Ah, a subtle difference.

Perhaps make serum injection/dose an individual card first, so people know what all the fine details are? (think fallen elf)

well the main difference is that this is intended solely for the guinea pig, unlike mutation/improve(d mutation) which is applied to other creatures  and dose is effectively 2 positive (or sometimes more) applications of injection on the same target.

So it has a chance for negative effects, a chance of positive effects and a chance of mutation right?

I love it.
It would make for some incredibly fun decks, though if the decks based on it would be stable.. That's a whole different thing.
A turniment based on these would be great to play in.
However, the one dose per guinea pig..  I wouldn't mind that being done away with.

i'm kinda surprised this isnt getting more love.  if it was simply a basic self-mutate, would that be more or less interesting to people?
