Am i the only one who thinks this is OP? 2  :air for a 6 damage weapon is kind of OP on its own, adding the skill into this mix just makes it more OP. i would say it should cost 3 unupped and 4 upped.
Do you remember Longsword? 1 :rainbow for 6 damage?
Do you remember all the other weapons where the best cost to damage ratio is 5:8?

Yes. That one had momentum as well.

Let us rather consider it as a creature that is subject to both CC and PC.
3 :air over 2 turns for a 6|5 upgraded creature but also subject for 1 turn to PC.
4 :aether in one turn for a 7|2 upgraded creature.

Also I subscribe to the school of additive cost analysis not ratio.
8(attack)-3(weapon slot)-1(upgrade)+1(momentum)=5
6(attack)-3(weapon)-2(upgrade)+1(self animate)=2

The ratio school of cost analysis assumes that cards are always plentiful

Because so many ai3 pack PC. any why do you always compare these cards to the most powerful in the game? not comparing it to some balanced card.

Because I felt it would be seen as less powerful than an acceptably balanced card (at least according to the additive school of balance)

Also I subscribe to the school of additive cost analysis not ratio.
8(attack)-3(weapon slot)-1(upgrade)+1(momentum)=5
6(attack)-3(weapon)-2(upgrade)+1(self animate)=2

The ratio school of cost analysis assumes that cards are always plentiful in which case quanta efficiency is more important than card efficiency.

Also cards are balanced first against PvP. Upgraded decks should have high winning percentages against AI3.

Oldtrees, in PvP, decks usually pack some kind of CC or PC unless rushing.  This card attempts to deal with that by giving you the choice to make it a permanent or creature, with the only cost being 1  :air and a 1 turn delay (and as I said with Morphing Clay, this card does not burrow when compared to Graboid).   Also, consider this compared to the Other weapons:

Hammer/Short Bow : 4 damage max for 2  :rainbow quanta.
Flying Sword: 4 Damage max for 2  :air quanta, with added option of being a creature for 1  :air and 1 turn delay.

Gavel/Long Bow : 7 damage max for 2  :rainbow quanta.
Flying Blade: 6 damage max for 2  :air quanta, with added option of being a creature for 1  :air and 1 turn delay.

Based on this, the card feels balanced.

I like this idea. I want this and the Shuriken to both make it into the Reliquary. :D That would be awesome.

Interesting question: what does the resulting ability do when Endow is used on this weapon?

It would give the Crusader the ability to use Animate Weapon on itself, because that is what Flying Sword does.   ;)

CURATOR COMMENT
-Please do your art research. ^^; - http://kaldorei.gfxartist.com/artworks/51684 <---this link shows the original image of the picture, on a completely different site. Note that you MUST gain permission from that artist and display it to the Curator if you want to use the artwork; otherwise, you -must- change the image.
-*Try to make the text flow better by removing the extra 'Animate' phrase~
"Weapon: Deal 4 damage at the end of each turn.   :air : Animate : Animate Weapon is cast on this card."

...could be changed to:

"Weapon: Deal 4 damage at the end of each turn.   :air : Animate Weapon is cast on this card."

* = suggestion

This reminds me of that revised version of that 'Shuriken' idea back in the Revive the Archive competition...

It's basically a Short/Long Sword that can avoid PC by turning itself into creature.  I don't feel that's it's current cost is UP when compared to the Other weapons.

If anyone can find some good non-copyrighted art work for this card, it'd be greatly appreciated.

It would give the Crusader the ability to use Animate Weapon on itself, because that is what Flying Sword does.   ;)
There's two ways to go, actually, since Animate Weapon ALWAYS targets the weapon slot.  On the one hand, the Crusader could automatically target itself, doing nothing since it's already "flying" (though it might add the Airborne passive if Endow didn't).

On the other hand, it could behave like Animate Weapon, and fly whatever's in your weapon slot - it would become an Animate-on-a-stick.
