I love this idea, but there needs to be a clarification about the 'up/down' aspect of it.

Looking at the picture before, you have 3 rows (8, 7, and 8 again). In the middle row, next to the two Ice Dragons, there's a Ruby Dragon to the 'lower left' side of one of them. If you used Fire Bomb/Mortar on that Ice Dragon, would it hit the Ruby Dragon? Or would it possibly 'hit' the potential monster to the right of it?

Again, the question is: creatures alligned 'up/down' don't make sense, because the cards are shifted approximately half-way to prevent overlap. So if you target a creature in the middle (7) row, which of the creatures (left/right) does it affect when the area of effect chooses its top and bottom damage areas?

*Adjacent meant all areas directly beside the target (up,down, left, right) NOT diagonal!
When it comes to creature slots, up/down is diagonal. You'll be hitting at most 3 targets as you've said now, or up to 7 if you include diagonals (2 up, 2 down).
There is no (easy) way in which the max number of hits for this is 5. Maybe 4, if up/down is only valid for bottom/top row, hitting say 3 slots on the top and 1 on the bottom.

Edit: see your screenshot for example. Up from the Ruby Dragon includes both a Siluran Dragon and an Arctic Dragon.

besides, for 1 more you could use RoF and hit everyone for 3 isntead of 4 for 3 and 1 for 4

Assassim, in your deck image, try replacing Obsidian Dragons with Parallel Universes and Fractals. Makes for a better deck. :)

This idea is really cool, if it can be coded. If it can be coded, it would be awesome to see a whole set of cards that depend upon card location on the playing field. Great card.

in order to make it simpler, what if the splash damage was to anything touching the creature, would that make it easier to understand cause then it could affect max of 7 cards

Oh snap! completely missed the fact that the rows aren't straight. Thanks for pointing it out. So I guess now that in order to avoid confusion, the card would have to affect diagonals as well (7 squares max) :). I'll make the changes to the main post as well. Too bad it no longer makes the nice "+" shape though :(

Thanks again.

No problem assassim. :)

The new clarification about the 'area of effect' allows me to give you a thumbs up for this idea, but I suppose that if this card would be implemented soon, that there might also be recommendations to also implement card positions systems (allowing the player to choose where to put their card to avoid environmental/spell effects (see Flooding/Inundation)).

Really like this card. I don't think that there will be a huge outcry for card placement. There's been plenty of situations where people have all their water cards in the middle row when flooding comes out, and there hasnt been a big issue.
