The upgrade gives the creature the venom of one of the Scorpions, based upon its element.  So a Deja Vu would gain Neurotoxin, a Skeleton would gain Deadly Venom, and a Graviton Mercenary would gain Encumber.  Life, Earth, and Light would gain regular venom, making it viably downgraded in several cases. Poisonous: Passive and causes poisoning if ingested. This has been an idea stuck in my head since I started the series, and I hope it is interesting. Acts as a lobotomy spell similar to Liquid Shadow and others. I am not particularly fond of cards that have a mechanic change when upgraded, this being comparable to Nova | Supernova, but I felt this deserved such with the type of mechanic. Cost is obviously high for the downgrade, I just didn't bother to fix it when it occurred to me, and decided to wait on public opinion on what it actually should be.  The upgrade is definitely going to be a little high, but perhaps not so much as it is now.  The fact that this can be applied to any creature, including weapons, makes it very capable of a card.

Cool. This is really interesting with all your different poison mechanics in mind. Without them, I think it could grant Deadly Venom to all, as I find it's the most universally powerful ability. Perhaps even a Venom ability that applies 3 Poison for each hit, considering this is a buff and as such puts card advantage at risk.

Yeah, this is specifically an add-on to my Scorpion series, but viable for a standalone idea should the upgrade be a more potent or cheaper version of the downgrade.

Old skill is replaced. A creature cannot have more than one active skill.

What about passive? For example, Scarab has both airbourne and swarm, filling up the passive slot.

You can have more than one passive but not more than one active.

Swarm is replaced by Poisonous.
IIRC, a creature can have one passive and one Airborne. As airborne is technically a passive, a creature can have up to two passives (though one will always be Airborne/not Airborne, and the other is the "real" passive)
