The reason why I created this card is because I miss some more variety about Quanta production. By the way such kind of animal would be really awesome ^^

The idea how this insect lives: It feeds from quanta particles floating in the air and saves parts of them from time to time. If struck by high energy, the bug emits a certain amount from it's deposit.

This is a nice idea. I believe that the cost of the creature could stand to come down maybe 1.

If the ability is a 1 shot deal, you should be ok. If it is repeatable like with rustler or leaf dragon, you should probably keep the cost to quanta generated ratio the same (i.e. the skill should cost :aether :aether in both cases). You could then reduce the casting cost of the upped version or increase its stats to compensate.

Other than that, this is a neat little card. Its a little on the vanilla side but sometimes simple is a good thing.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

Its a little on the vanilla side but sometimes simple is a good thing.

I don't see why you say that at all ;) If you inspect all the existing creatures in the actual game, u'll have to admit that about 95% of all creatures are plain according to your measure. That's how the game is, at least has been till now.

Look: Check out all the card ideas here. At the minimum half of them are exactly as the *modern* form of art. Nice to look at and to be dealt with in theory but useless for being transferred into practical use. In Elements, I could also do that, it's not difficult at all, but a card like

'Count all permanents on the field. Add the total number of quanta possessed by both players and divide it by the number of creatures on the fields. If the result is higher than the hitpoints of both players added minus hundred, extract the root of the difference. The result is divided by two and this amount is distributed as random quanta to both players over five turns. If not, both players receive 20 damage.
No permanents are allowed to be played while the five turns are lasting except those whose costs are below four. Any damage dealt by creatures from death and darkness is reflected back to them. If they die through that action, they are revived as random creatures from aether or entropy. 50%/50% chance which one it would be. If there is just 20 damage dealt, any creatures that have got a bigger difference between atk and def than 2 suffer one point of damage for the next three turns. During this period, no heal can be applied to them..........'

does not improve the game nor makes it any more sophisticated  :P


This card is easy to use, understandable to everyone and totally simple to program.

I am really glad that both of you seem to like the card by the way =)

Well, if you ask in that way along with this calculations, it looks a little bit weird indeed. I adjusted the card now, making it cheaper by 1 :air and gave the creature one point of damage.

I guess it's better now but do definitely still need more expertise...

Nope, it's of course a flying thingy. I tried to put it in the 'Notes' field. If my opportunities had been better I would have put 'Airborne' as passive ability somewhere, but I have never seen how it would work or should look like.


Because I am a very Rookie in the card designing business I'd appreciate any kind of help and apologize if I broke the posting rules here  :-*

Just remove the "(v1.1)" and add a space between the :aether and colon in the TEXT field and there should be no technical problems with this submission.  Also, I'd move the old version [(SPOILER)] after the current version, as to avoid confusion for editing and for any Curating nuances.

The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. The upped version should be quite useful since you could power an aether bow with very stable aether generation using this, aether pillars / pendulums, fractal, and an air mark. It would be very fun in conjunction with mindgate.
This also provides a nice buffer against decks that make use of denial, such as devour-tal since it could buffer your precious aether quanta.
