Why not make the attack/hp bonus much smaller (like +2/+2 and +4/+4), and make the place cost a bit lower (6 ?)
It's a much more doable item.
An absorb effect would be a bit steep, since it's meant for mono aether (which I like).

I love this idea, mutants are my favorite creatures, mutant spawner would be GREAT, maybe a bit OP though.

What happens to the Dimensional Terror/Horror, if you TU it?
Will the twin get another +10/+10 or +6/+6, like normal mutants get an additional bonus if they are TUed?

-> summons one creature, TU it twice and get a +30+/30 Mutant o.O.
Use this against Gemini and you're screwed.
